The Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents began in 1965, containing proclamations, executive orders, press releases, press conferences, messages to Congress, and speeches. Beginning January 20, 2009, these materials are published as the Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents.

The Public Papers of the President is the annual compilation of the Weekly Compilation, with certain omissions.
