West now calls some of its hornbooks "Practitioner Treatises." Thus, to search for a hornbook on a specific topic, use both hornbook and practitioner in a key word search with a word describing the topic of the hornbook you are seeking.
For example, a search for a criminal law hornbook would look like this:
hornbook or practitioner and crim*
This search retrieves records with the words: hornbook, practitioner(s) and criminal, etc.
